This update introduces many new features to the game. Now there will be even more ways to play the game.
First on the list is the new NPC, Mysterious Child. This is our first NPC, and a human, too! If you are wondering why it's not a wolf, the reason will be clear in future updates. As for what interactions you can have with this NPC ... I mean you can hit it like any other mob although you are advised against it. This NPC will go pickup nearby dropped items ... hence your loot may be stolen. On the other hand, if you were to give the right number of a certain item to the NPC with the new item dropping feature, you may get a surprise reward! It is kind of like trading. The Mysterious Child will spawn randomly on the map and will not stay in a fixed spot for too long. You may need to explore a bit to find the NPC (with a bit of luck required), but no worries, the NPC will not spawn too far off from your base.
This update also introduces a new spell, the teleport spell. This spell will allow you to teleport forward a short distance on cast ... oh man, I'm pretty sure everyone knows how this can break the game is so many ways; however, it's a fun feature so I can't help but to include it even though the implementation was extremely tedious.
With the new teleport spell comes new terrains that you can use the spell to get to. Introducing the highlands area, which is basically just some cliffs. They will simply serve to impede your way during exploration unless you have the teleport spell to get over it (or you can walk around it). Besides the new terrain, you can also use the teleport spell to teleport into bodies of water. Yes, you can technically go for a swim now, but do note you can drown if you don't get out in time.
As for why you would want to go for a swim, that's where the new feature of fish shadows come in. You can catch the swimming fish shadows in the water by swimming up to them (with some chances of failure). You will get fishing experience for successfully catching fish this way, and it doesn't require bait! Note that the telekinesis grab spell may also be used to fish these shadows!
On a side note, the cure spell became a bit outdated with the new blood moon event, hence it now cures all status conditions except drowning and hunger. Also as a complementary bonus to the players, blood moon mobs now drop 50% more experience points! Happy grinding! For those who don't like gore, you may also turn off death gore in options now (at least for most mobs, it can be used to reduce lag somewhat).
So, are you ready to spam the teleport spell and break the game? Maybe you want to see how hard it is to survive in a world that requires spells to survive? Well, what are you waiting for? Death is awaiting in Wolfiecraft >>>
